  The Beaucatcher Salon

The Beaucatcher hair salon held a benefit show for INQUEST at Saturday 24 October at The Others, north London on 24 October, raising £750 for INQUEST.

Combining a hair demonstration called "Artisan" by the team of stylists from the salon with a party to celebrate five years in business in Stoke Newington, the event also featured live music from The Cedars, Morning Bride, Balabustah and Justine Armatage of The Cesarians, with very special guests The Little Theatre of Dolls and their weird and wonderful puppet show.

Henrietta Hill from Doughty Street Chambers completed the inaugural Hever Castle triathlon on 27 September, which involved a 400m swim, 20km cycle and 4 km run.

INQUEST is grateful to Henrietta for her considerable efforts, and congratulate her on completing a gruelling physical challenge in our behalf, which has raised over £1,300 already.

    Hodge Jones & Allen

Hodge Jones and Allen solicitors organized a charity quiz night at their offices on Gower Street in central London on 24 September to raise funds for INQUEST.

Tables sold out within a couple of days and generous donations of prizes were raised by Doughty Street chambers, Christian Khan and Bindmans. The resounding winners of the night were a team from Tooks Court chambers, and the event was great fun for all involved with everyone entering to the competitive spirit of the evening.

Table sales, the raffle and a generous top up from HJA brought the total raised for the evening to £2,186. This is a significant contribution to INQUEST at a time when we are struggling to raise the funding we need to maintain our vital service to bereaved families.

Thanks are due to Anna Thwaites and the HJA team, the donors and participants for their generosity and support. A great spin off from this enjoyable evening is the other firms and chambers have been moved to do something to support our cause, so if you have ideas please contact us.
